This is my (George) maiden voyage on the whole blogging expedition. Since Brittany is being so diligent in the communication department, I decided that I needed to keep up with the wifey.
These days it seems like there are multiple areas in which I try to keep up with Britt. Let me elaborate on this. We recently joined a gym. The other night we went together and got on the elliptical machine right beside each other. This was a mistake. Being the competitive person that I am I could not stop focusing on how fast my little wife was going. Of course I had to peddle faster than she did but this was no simple task. By the end of the 30 minute session I was pouring sweat and my legs felt like noodles. I did not let her know that I had been trying to out do her the entire time and therefore couldn't act like I was that winded. Like blogging, I'm new to the world of elliptical machines. Let me explain something, these things are bizarre and work parts of my body that I didn't even know contained muscles. The takeaway from this is to not work out directly beside your wife. There are no positive outcomes to this situation.
One thing that is dangerous to forget when walking a dog in New York... plastic bags. If you get caught not being responsible with the fecal matter that your little four legged friend produces you will be an outcast. You can do a lot of different things in life and still be socially accepted in New York, but if your dog pops a squat and you don't pick it up, you will be treated as if you are not a real human. I know this because I did it. Clancy used the facilities (i.e. the sidewalk) a few too many times and the number of bags that I had with me didn't quite match up. I will refrain from going into further details but please make a mental note to never go anywhere with a dog and not bring along a large number of plastic bags while in Manhattan. It can get weird fast.

Spring Has Arrived!
I am happy to report that the temperature in NY finally reached the 60's today. George, Clancy, and I are all ready for warmer weather. While on a walk recently, we found a park about 5 blocks from our apartment that has two huge swimming pools! I can only imagine how packed it is with kids during hot summer days, but at least we have the option to go swimming or lay-out.
We had a very happy Easter. George and I dyed Easter eggs and went to our church, Redeemer Presbyterian. I was pretty distraught about the fact that I didn't get a new Easter dress this year, but it was too cold for a dress anyway.
Yesterday was my first day doing my job by myself at work. Lyndsey's, the girl here before me, last day was Friday. Besides being slightly confused with new situations, it is pretty easy and laid back. I normally have stuff to do all day long which makes the day go by fast.
For those of you who don't know, my little sister, Hallie, made middle school cheerleader! I am really proud of her :). She is way better than I ever was at cheerleading.
That is about all I have today. I love y'all!
Oh, I forgot one thing... if you are bored go to www.puppywar.com and vote for Clancy!

Happy Good Friday!

Wow! It has been a really great couple of weeks. George and I have had a wonderful time with all of our recent visitors and are enjoying the warmer weather. I had a great 23rd birthday -- thank you for all of the calls and cards. They really reminded me of how great my friends and family are, even so far away. George took me to a swanky restaurant called Butter, and my birthday present was a day at the spa! We also got a giant 40 inch LCD television, Blue-Ray player, and surround sound system. It is amazing :).
I took a marketing/personal assistant job with a dermatologist named Dr. Lisa Airan. I started last Friday and have really liked it so far. Before I moved to New York I said that I wanted to find a job that I couldn't do anywhere else, and that is just what this job is. Dr. Airan is a cosmetic dermatologist with a very high status clientele. She is also a big NY socialite. She is frequently in magazines and on TV... this is where a large part of my job comes in. I keep up with all of her media appearances and deal with the scheduling of this and her social calender. To give you an idea, you can see her at these websites... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwezZWscrQ0 http://www.style.com/peopleparties/search/thumb/person1590 http://www.lisaairan.com/
My parents, Jan, Hallie, Jim, Meredith (Jim's gf), and Caitlin (my cousin) came to visit last week. We had such a great time! I really didn't want them to go home. George and I are going to Georgia for the Masters on April 11. We are only coming for the weekend, so we won't get a chance to come home but are excited about coming to the South... God's Country!! We ARE coming home Memorial Day weekend! Clancy is coming too! I can't wait to see everyone and spend time on the lake!
I hope all is well in your lives. Please keep us updated!
Love,
Britt

My Very First Blog Post!

Hey everyone!
To give you a little background info on why I started this blog... My new sister-in-law, Hillary, uses a blog to make updates on her precious new baby, Eva Pierce. I thought it would be fun to start one myself in order to stay connected with friends and family. If nothing else, I hope that my posts and pictures give you a little insight into George and my newlywed life and how we fit in, in NYC. The pictures are from our first weeks here and when Lacey and John came to visit for New Year's. As you can see it is very very cold!
